We’re so happy you’re here!
Adventure City Kids is an international arts, crafts and movement based program for children from infants to teens. We offer creative movement and dance classes, explorative art, English lessons, family fun, date night activities, and birthday party events!
We hope to enhance the lives of the children and families we work with. We encourage the creative process by nurturing and expanding on creative ideas, exploring the art of creative play and the playful process of creativity! As part of our compassionate approach, Adventure City Kids is child initiated and focuses on inclusion, respect, imagination and kindness.
Meet our Creator
I’m Kayleigh and I’m a therapist, educator, dancer and creative soul from sunny Los Angeles, California. I love facilitating creativity and sharing the process with others. I have a master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy from SRH University Heidelberg and a bachelor's degree in Child Development and Family Studies from California State University, Long Beach.
I’m here because, I believe art and movement combined with play should be a part of every child’s experience. It is the foundation for growth, development, problem solving, social interaction, emotional regulation and self-esteem.
How did I Get here?
Moving through Los Angeles, Glasgow, San Francisco and Berlin to finally get to Heidelberg, with over 27 years of training and experience in both the classical art of dance and the expressive therapeutic science of dance… I AM HERE.
The journey of dance brought me (and still does), joy, presence, communication, self-esteem, persistence, dedication, challenge, defeat, resilience, perseverance, team-work and passion. These are values that support me professionally and have developed throughout my career thus far. Dance is an international language of expression and offers community, connection and a feeling of belonging. Combining dance with education and psychology brings us to dance/movement therapy, an evidence based approach to support health and well-being. Implementing dance/movement therapy techniques accesses non-verbal communication, spreads empathy, expands self-awareness, promotes creativity and nurtures relationships.
